You using standard windows login or login crashea using a Microsoft acc? Test if qpp works on a different profile by making a new account. If problem exists still like I did. Uninstall microsoft news app, use Ccleaner to clean up the registry and stuff I can’t rmemeber where I read it from but delete all the cache related to the news app Terminate the microsoft related processes like the microsoft store in the Apps in settings Do the powershel thing that Kapil suggested.

I upgraded to Windows 10 and the preloaded News and Money apps crash occasionally when I click on an article to read. I get thrown back to the Start screen and I lose my place in the app. It was suggested that I run sfc and that just says it can’t fix some files. I have a Stream 7 with a 32gb sd card added so I could upgrade. Any suggestions? Go to Solution. I understand that some preloaded app are not working after upgrading to Windows I am happy to help with this. I would suggest that you try reinstalling the apps, or searching for an updated version. Some applications just may not be compatible with Windows 10, or the upgrade process may have removed something that would have prevented a successful upgrade.
Often just reinstalling the app is all that is needed. The other option, if there is not a newer version of the app available is to reinstall the original app, but in compatibility mode. The News and Money apps are still crashing quite frequently. I ran the Hp quick diagnostics and the hardware checks out ok. I guess I’ll have to go back to Windows 8.
Maybe I’ll try Windows 10 again after giving Microsoft a few months to make it reliable. Before you revert back to 8, try the Microsoft Apps Diagnostic Tool first. It might find the issue easy enough. Troubleshoot problems with an app – Windows Help. Tried the Apps Tool it said no problem. Discovered that Facebook crashed in certain operations too. HP Hardware diagnostic quick test was ok. It is the OS in my opinion. Went back to Windows 8.
No crashes so far in Windows 8. Mine wouldn’t. That and the sporadic apps crashing leads me to believe I somehow had a corrupt install.
The apps were uninstalled and reinstalled. Also, for others, did you get your successful Windows 10 install by just adding an SD card what I did or by using a flash drive with an OTG cable? Windows resource protection did not find any integrity violations. I would use the USB option. Thats the OS for tablets. Thanks Photoray.
