Running the commands above didn’t actually edit the registry for me so I did it manually.

Here’s what I did: 1. Ensure you have a licence code for the version you are moving to, and you know what it is! Make sure your system is patched re-boot as needed.
Lookup the generic code for the version you want to install google generic licence codes, I’m not sure if these change so please check. Disconnect from the internet. Make changes to the Registry, there are six keys which need to be changed. I ran this script in PowerShell as an Admin. This was for me going Edu to Pro, to go Pro to Home , change values. Enter the generic key from step 4 which matches the edition you’re moving to.
Once the install is complete, check to make sure you have your desired version installed. Enter your correct licence key from step 1 which matches the edition you’re moving to. Re-connect to the internet, re-boot and check Windows is activated. This above method worked for me, it’s posted here as an amendment to the original method from Sumit Volunteer Moderator as it includes a few extra steps others might find helpful.
