The coverage of the complex Autocad program is well done. The issue I have is with the quality of the printing. This, of course, is not the authors’ fault. The book is printed on low quality paper and many of the pictures are impossible to discern.

I understand printing in color is prohibitively expensive, and most textbooks nowadays are printed in black and white. But the quality of many of the pictures in this book is so bad that you can’t see anything. How does that help you learn to use the software? I would give the authors 5 stars, but I’m being generous giving the book itself a 3 star rating.

The book made it reasonably easy to find the changes made to the AutoCAD software and learn how to set up the software to have the earlier style operation. Good reference book. Excellent product and services. Very good book, wish it had videos to go along with the chapters.

It’s a great guide and if you’re using it to learn autocad 16 from the beginning, it’s probably about as good as it gets. If you already use autocad the format is a little sketchy, as it assumes you’re building on the project s they have you create in the book At least for me, it would be better if it were written a bit more «generically. I am a long time user of AutoCAD and bought this book to refresh my knowledge on 3d modelling, whilst it has a good section on all the basics of surface and solid modelling it completely leaves out a section on 3d visualization: for example setting up and manipulating cameras, rendering visuals and walk throughs.

The book has a lot of technical detail, in my view too detailed for a beginner or day-to-day user. It’s about pages thick, everything is black and white, the print is quite small and I did not find the index as useful as it should be.

If you know nothing about AutoCAD you will find this book somewhat daunting. Nevertheless I shall keep it as a reference book. Report abuse.
