Yes No. Sorry this didn’t help. PST File access is denied after upgrading to Windows Windows 10 and Outlook. This is an issue not only with Office , but with the Office Preview. The suggested solution may work for some, but it did not for me. For me, all Office updates are installed and the programs supposedly working correctly. Also, I’ve repeatedly uninstalled and installed both Office and Office Preview. I have Office and noticed incompatibility issues with each Office product including Publisher and OneNote.

Another site offered the solution to open each Office icon in the ‘Start Menu’ located by right-clicking the icon in the ‘All App’ section and opening the file location and running the compatibility wizard until settings were found that would allow the program to open. This was a solution offered to open Office when upgrading Windows 7 to Windows 8 or 8. Oddly, this proves to be a temporary fix for opening Office or Office Preview when upgrading to Windows 10, regardless of the previous Windows version.

I say temporary for this reason. When closing a program after repairing, the corresponding error message would come up that the specific program could not open the file or the file was corrupt, etc. A short time later, the settings would not work and I would have to repeat the Compatibility Wizard over again.

Sometimes the incompatibility issue repeated itself the same day. Other times, it would take a day or two before the issue repeated.
