If you’re looking to review clash etc, i’d lean towards using Navisworks and importing the files natively. In there isn’t any better integration, other than AutoCAD importing Navisworks files which could be made up of Inventor files. Hi, did you already succeed in importing a P3D file in Inventor? On the other hand, I am very indecisive about ortho drawings. I find the drawing on 3D plant tedious compared to that of Inventor.
I would therefore be able to «import» into my Inventor assemblies the pipes made in Plant3D but without having to export them and without losing their intelligence. Do you have some ideas? As part of a project that I’m currently working , we created a small piece of software to automatize the task of bringing native P3D geometry to Inventor. Once in Inventor will be used only as a r eference for clash checks e final drawings.

The results from dwg to inventor are poor, some geometry is missing and the models have a poor surface. To make the integration between plant 3d and inventor i have the following workflow. Results: importing as SAT into inventor is much faster then dwg format. Import as SAT the geometry is more smooth and no missing components.
The downside of this workflow is the time consuming. I was wondering if in there is a better integration between apps. All the help will be appreciated. Message 2 of TomislavGolubov ic.
Why are you importing, what are you trying to achieve? Message 3 of One of the disciplines works in plant 3D and to have integration with the remaning disciplines in inventor, P3D geometry have to be imported in inventor.
